Thanks for my Peeps...

Keep smiling, keep shining

Oh, that's what friends are for...

How true this is. God has blessed me beyond measure with family and friends that really and truly know how to live what God intended commitment to be. The phone calls, the e-mails, the hugs, the prayers, the job leads, the overwhelming show of support during the last couple of weeks is so humbling and yet so much needed.
Thanks Dan, Dell, Rick, Paul, Jim, Brett, Brian, Bob, Andrew, Mike, Jason, Mark, Rod, John, Tom, Eileen, Tanya, Denny, Cindy, LeRoy, Terry, Sarah, Harold, Marge, Kristin, Jack, Brenda, Larry, Shelly, Shelley, Stan, Steve, Mark, J-Bo, Levi, and my BESTEST friends Sherry, Matt and Derek. I know that there are people who don't even know me that are praying as well. I know that God has the right job at the right time.

THIS is good...

A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. This is a quote from Edmund Burke. He was a colonist sympathizer in the British House of Commons during the revolutionary war. I have been reading some of his writings and he was indeed very wise.
Here is one more quote that our modern day politicians would not be comfortable hearing:
Speech to the Electors of Bristol (1774): "...it ought to be the happiness and glory of a representative to live in the strictest union, the closest correspondence, and the most unreserved communication with his constituents. Their wishes ought to have great weight with him; their opinion, high respect; their business, unremitted attention. Not my timing...

I spoke with a dear pastor friend of mine yesterday and when I told him about being laid off, he looked into my face and said that he could see peace. Hmmm... I was glad to hear that. It is really difficult to fake peace, and it assured me that God really is in control. I won't pretend that I don't get anxious sometimes, but overall, I do know that this is out of my hands. All I can do is my best, and leave it in God's hands. The phone calls and e-mails and personal contacts of those that love me have been overwhelming. The love and encouragement that I get from Sherry is very reassuring and much needed.
I have an interview this afternoon that would be a great opportunity and that I'm excited about but...it's not my timing
