OK...Enough politics for the moment.

I want to tell you about why I love my church and would not want to be anyplace else. Here are just some of the reasons:
1. I get to hear a lot about Jesus.
2. There are people that go there that remind me of who He is and mirror Him.
3. It's comforting. Everyone there has a story; a background; a history and we remind each other that because of Grace we are loved anyway.
4. I get lots of hugs. We are a church of 'huggers' and by the time I leave that day I feel very loved.
5. I'm accepted. As regular readers of my blog have come to realize, I can be a bit opinionated at times (although I really do attempt to do it in a caring way).
6. I have LOTS of friends there. I have friends who laugh with me, cry with me, pray with me, stimulate and challenge my thought, allow me to challenge them without getting upset, confront me when needed, and most of all, love me no matter what.
7. They allow me to use the gifts that God has given me in both music and being a Sheepdog.
8. I enjoy watching my wife use her gifts especially in the area of Drama. She is so fun to watch!
9. They keep me accountable to keep my feet pointed in the direction of Christ.
10. They give me the spiritual boost every week that I need to face the world on a daily basis and meet satan head-on.
11. It is a church with a great sense of social responsibility. As I have mentioned in previous blogs, it is the CHURCH'S responsibility to take care of the less fortunate, NOT the government's. I will continue to bang that drum until I take my last breath. GCC has ministries both here and around the world to see that people are fed, clothed, and have been told about Jesus.
Even though I don't always see eye to eye with some of our methods, I am convinced that our leaders and our people have the comom goal in mind of coming closer to Christ.
I'm so thankful to be part of such a wonderful family.
