Thank you...


Let's face it, it's been a rough year. There were plenty of struggles that we went through in our family, but as we gathered around the table this afternoon and I gave the blessing, there were many things that came to mind to be thankful for. I guess it is human nature to want to dwell on the negative, maybe because it's easier. I'm not really sure why, but for some reason I seem to be able to recount all of the crap that happened last week a lot faster that trying to remember the good stuff.

I look around and see my beautiful wife of 30+ years, my sons and daughter-in-law, my incredible grandchildren, my two crazy cats, my cute little bunny, my home, and my health.

Throughout the day I was getting text messages from many friends wishing me a happy day and we had one of our best friends over to share our dinner with us at noon. I will say that I would not even consider doing life without the friendships that God has blessed me with. Each and every one of them is vital to my survival. I can only hope and pray that I bless their lives even half as much as they do mine.

I'm also very thankful for my freedom. I pay tribute to those that have come before me to secure the liberties that we enjoy and so many times take for granted daily. I do not take their sacrifice lightly. All gave some, and some gave all. That is why I am so very passionate about this country, our constitution, and the rugged individualism and faith that made us great. We ARE exceptional and I refuse to apologize for it. I simply cannot get into the minds of those that want to sell us out and and turn our fate over to to our own government or some world union. I will fight until my last breath and either kill or be killed to defend what we have. My life is no more or less valuable than those that came before me.

Most of all I'm thankful to God for giving us his Son so that I don't have to face an eternity without him.

I'm thankful for the blessings that God has showered upon me and I strive use what he has given me wisely to bless others for the time I have left on this earth.
